Weathering – Rust

• xf-10 is a good base colour to apply to a whole model (or just a part of it) before adding pigments or more “rust” shades. Other colours are xf-64 and xf-9. 

In the end, any shade of red, brown, yellow and orange is what you need.

Needless to say, using more than one colour for the base is always the best because real rust is not one single colour. It’s good to look for as many pictures of rusted objects as you can: better to work on evidence rather than assumption 🙂

Jokes aside: to be a good observer helps in being a good modeller too.
